Birthday Brunch: Cinnamon Bun Casserole

Y’all! I’m always making myself something sweet and special for my birthday because I have the strongest sweet tooth ever. It’s so strong, sometimes I’ll just eat sugar. Yes, I know it’s bad.

Last year, I made a Krispy Kreme Doughnut Bread Pudding. It was so sweet and rich it literally made me sick. I couldn’t eat Krispy Kreme doughnuts for almost a year, but I’d make it again. This year, I was hopeful that my new find–Cinnamon Bun Casserole–would be rich and sweet, but not make me or my brunch guests sick. It did the job.

I love challah bread. I’ve been using it to make French toast for years. So when I saw this recipe using my favorite bread, I knew it would be yummy. Besides, homemade cinnamon rolls are great, but a chore to make. These are easy and super good. I added a lot more milk than the recipe called for as I found the glaze pretty thick to start. Otherwise I followed the recipe perfectly and it didn’t disappoint. I think I’ll add raisins when I make it again. Enjoy!

Next time I’ll let the bread get a little stale

Simple, kitchen regulars
