Juice Fit

I moved twice this year-once after selling my home and again for a new gig in Tennessee. Between the moves and frequently visiting my mom while she battled breast cancer (now cancer free), I gained 12 pounds since April. Now that I am settled in my new town and role, I am working hard to get back into my healthy eating and fitness habits. But it has not been easy.

To kick off my renewed fitness journey, I decided to do a juice cleanse. I have juiced before, purchasing organic, cold-pressed juice from the grocery store. But this time, I decided to purchase a cleanse from a juice bar. Enter The Juice Bar’s Essential Cleanse. Under the plan, you drink 6 juices and eat a healthy dinner. I juiced for 3 days. While I didn’t lose as much weight as I hoped, at the end of the cleanse, I felt more energetic and well, clean. It definitely helped curb my cravings for sweets and fried food. My plan is to continue the practice of juicing once a month.

I ended each day with a simple salad of grilled chicken, low sugar craisins, pecans, feta and red onion over romaine greens topped with my favorite balsamic vinaigrette (less the Dijon mustard this time.
